Terms and Conditions - Cissell Ink

If you’re interested in scheduling editing or proofreading services and want to inquire about availability, email us at editors (at) cissellink (dot) com. Let us know if you’re booking editing or proofreading (or both!), your timeframe (make sure to leave time between editing & publishing for your revisions, the second round of edits, and proofreading), your genre/product, and an approximate word count. We can help with timelines, too, once we know your desired completion date, genre, and word count.

Once you decide to hire Cissell Ink, you will receive a PayPal invoice for the estimated total and a non-refundable down payment to hold your booking. There is a $50 minimum charge for all services, regardless of word count.

Fees and Payments

All sales are final. Flat fees and down payments are non-refundable. If we are unable to complete the work due to issues on our end, refunds are negotiable. By checking out, you are confirming that you’ve read the terms and conditions.

A final invoice (less the down payment) payable on receipt will be sent with the return of the first round of edits (or proofing). The invoice will contain a cost breakdown. Final payment is to be made by PayPal in USD. The remainder of the payment must be received prior to the first round of edits being released to the author.

When you hire us, you are agreeing to pay your full final invoice within five business days of receipt. After that time, a 5%/business day late fee will apply. This means that if your bill is $500 and you are three days late, that’s an additional $75.

Turnaround Time

When calendaring your projects, we will determine a return date for each phase based on when we receive the manuscript. Turnaround time will begin the day we start the project and not the day you contract the service.

Example. If you hire us to provide copy editing services for a 100,000-word novel, and we agree to start on June 1, you can expect to receive your first round of edits by June 14. Once you return it for the second round of editing, anticipate another ten business days from the date of receipt. (Your final product delivery date will be dependent on how quickly you revise and return the manuscript.)

Rush Jobs

If you require a quicker turnaround time or last-minute editing job, please contact us to see about the possibility of placing a rush order. Rush fees of 25% will apply. There are no guarantees that we will be able to fit in a rush job.

Contract

By paying the down payment, you acknowledge and agree to the terms and conditions as set by Cissell Ink.
